Oval portrait of a young Indian woman, painted on paper in watercolor with white highlights. With velvet covered passe-partout and mounted behind glass in a later European frame. Signed "S.B. Rawoot" and dated 1/7/16 in red. Dimension: painting: c. 27.5 cm x 18.5 cm, frame 41.6 cm x 34.7 cm. Condition: slightly faded, frame with few traces of usage.

Statue of Bodhisattva Manjusri, the Budhist deity who fights ignorance, in formal attire, wearing diadem, sitting on a double lotus throne, his hands in teaching posture ("dharmachakra mudra"). Bronze, with remnants of the original lacquering and gilding. Tibet, 19th century. Height: 17.5 cm. Very good condition. Statue of Bodhisattva Sadaksari Lokesvara, the four-armed deity seated in "dhyanasana" on a double lotus throne, his principal arms in prayer posture ("anjali mudra"), the other hands wearing the rosary (""ashamala") on the right side and a lotus of absolute purity on the left side. His head is sumounted by a stylized bust of Buddha Amithaba. The deity is wearing diadem, jewels and dhoti. The statue is made of gilt copper with turquoise and coral inserts. Tibet, 16th century. Antique Tibetan vajrakila phurba, a Buddhist sacred dagger "believed to be capable of transmuting vice and egocentrism into benevolent compassion. According to legend, Padmasambava introduced the magic dagger to Tibet to subdue forces hostile to Buddhism." (Bonhams Auction Tues. June 28, 2016 page.14.) Made of iron and copper alloy.

Mirror finely cast in the shape of a flaming "triratna", its stand framed by two small "apsaras". Bronze, with nice green and red patina. Traces of "tika" on some areas. Nepal, 18th century. Height: 20 cm. Erosion due to age, otherwise very good condition.

An old Tibetan ladies purse made of Yak leather and inlaid with silver and gilt carvings with a center piece of Turquoise. The front has carvings of two fish (representing the beginning of life)and flower design. The back has a center tree design. There is a silver woven chain attached to the top for carrying. Age: Late 19 Century to early 20th. Size:L. 13cm. W:3.5cm. H:6.8cm. Condition. Very fine, no repairs

Small antique tribal Persian chanteh (bag). Hand woven of wool in lovely deep indigo blue and brown. A central rectangle of deep blue has six vertical bands of white with interlocking motifs perhaps of rams horns, a powerful masculine symbol. Framing this is a wide dark brown band which is subtly woven with repeating protective eye motifs. The back of the bag is woven a solid deep brown color. Circa 1900. Size: 17" wide x 13" high

A beautiful Persian tribal small chanteh (bag) for personal use. Hand woven of wool for incredible durability. This bag has a very tight intricate knotting with a central design of diagonal bands of blue, white and rust colors. Inside each band is a diagonal row of what appear closest to a simple wheel of fortune motif except that each symbol only has two hooked arms and is spinning in the opposite direction of a wheel of fortune motif...

Antique Kilim runner of Turkish nomadic tribe origin. A series of 9 large bands, each with three large diamond shaped reserves inside which are crosses surrounded by protective hooked borders. Smaller protective diamond shapes and crosses fill in the space around each large motif. Bands of white with small crosses and diamond provide more protection. Hand woven of wool. Circa 1900. Size: 101" long x 31 1/2" wide.
