This is an authentic Tibetan cast bronze Buddha, shown in the "earth-touching" gesture,witnessing his divinity, and sealed with a double-dorje (vajra) impressed mark. The piece is complete and retains the consecration in the interior of the statue. The piece measures 3-1/2" in height and is in excellent condition, save for a small, nearly invisible, crack along the front of the neck,as shown in the photos. The head has not been broken off or reattached and the piece is completely stable...

A carved and painted Tibetan wood brush used by Buddhist monks for the destruction ceremony of sand painted Mandalas. Made from carved and painted hardwood with animal hair and a copper loop. Condition: few traces of usage, good patina, small chip. Dimension: total length: 20.8 cm, 11.7 cm wide, 3 cm deep.

An antique silver box with hinged lid standing on four ball feet and a small silver tray decorated with cloves on four legs. Both items unmarked. Rare Boti or vegetables cutter, like any good kitchen utensil this has a multipurpose function, as it can be used as a coconut scraper on the end of the hand forged blade. This one is circa late 19th century from Tamil Nadu. The end of the cutter has been made into the shape of a bird with “floral” patterns carved into t5he wood. The Tibetan leather flint pouch (aka strike a light) is properly known as a "mechag" (me = fire , chag = iron) or fire iron. This Tibetan flint pouch is decorated with ornate silver and bronze ornamentation with an inset red bead which appears to be a replacement for the original bead. The pouch would have been secured to the wears belt with the attached leather strap...

A round, convex shield with four central bosses. Decorated with raised design of tendrils, embellished with black and red enamel, and some tin plated areas. Reverse with four attaching bronze rings and a velvet pad. Compare with a similar shield in the Royal Ontario museum. Condition: few losses to enamel and wear to tinned areas, reverse with some residue of solder. Dimension: diameter: 28 cm.

Antique India natural hardwood bowl, used for mixing up flour dough for making flatbreads like pita. Very rustic and charming, heavy hardwood. Unusual shape almost like a turtle. Size: 20" L x 17" D x 3" H

This Tibetan shrine shaped gau (aka prayer box) is actually a religious shrine. When not being worn as an ornament during festivals, it would be kept in the prayer niche of the family home. The back of the box slides open. Frequently, a special prayer i.e. sutra pages would be placed inside. The small glass window at the front displays a Tsa tsa, which is a clay statue of a Buddhist Diety. These statues were made only by the monks and considered to be a holy relic...

Old, Authentic Tibetan Pair of jha-phor, Butter Tea Bowl, Tsampa Bowl, made of Burlwood and finished with silver around the rim for the larger one and on the inside for the smaller, also at the raised foot of the cups. Diameter: 11 cm and 9 cm. High 5 cm and 4,5 cm ca. Tibet, Late 19th cent. The bowls are in very good condition and have a nice patina from use.

Embossed gilt copper plate, with fine details, representing a snarling snow lion, standing. Two small copper rivets above the back of the lion. Tibet, early 19th century, maybe earlier. Height: 7 cm. Length: 8.3 cm. The plate is nicely mounted on a custom wood stand. Very good condition. Collected in Nepal in 1978.

Finely cast gilt bronze statue of Hindu god Vishnu, wearing a diadem with a flaming aureola at the back, necklaces bracelets and a dhoti, holding his attributes with his four arms. The god is standing on and backed by the Naga. India, late 19th century. Height: 15 cm. Very good condition. NOTE: Images of Vishnu typically depict him with four arms, holding his attributes: the club, wheel, conch and lotus flower. A round shaped silver lingam box (ayigalu or shivadhara) with its original chain. A neck amulet once worn by a wealthier lay member of the Lingayat sect in South India. Markings. This is a remarkable antique Huqqa crafted in the 18th century in India during the Mughal Islamic period. The Huqqa takes the shape of a bell and is made of brass covered with sheet silver. It is meticulously engraved with a beautiful and intricate silver floral pattern that is sure to captivate any admirer.

The base of the Huqqa is stamped with the name of the maker, which adds to its authenticity and historical significance.
