Six different antique ceremonial spoons used during Hindu worship for offering holy water to deities, from Maharashtra. Made of brass or bronze, the largest spoon in "ganga-jumna" technique (brass and copper). Three with cobra, two with lotus bud and one with dancing Krishna final. One with short inscription. Old Kalaga from Myanmar (now Burma) featuring an unusual but colorful bird. The kalaga is embroidered with a combination of metallic and plain threads, sequins, beads and glass stones. Applied around the bird in a circle are glass-like stones that give the appearance of moonstones. In very good antique/vintage condition, it measures about 14.25 inches square. Circa 1950's or earlier.

An attractive gouache Indo-Persian Miniature depicting important leaders in battle scenes with watchful warriors, an elephant and several horses. Very fine painting with intricate details of individuals in combat and nature. Good condition and nice colors. Size: 23 cm. x 15 cm.

A fine carved and painted marble sculpture of the Hindu deity Ganesha, the elephant-headed god. He is holding his war axe in one hand, an elephant goad, ankusha, in another. A further holds a rosary and the last holds a sweetmeat. A hooded cobra supports his trunk and a large rat nibbles his foot. From northern India, mid 19th century.

Wonderful Indian bronze altar with the Hindu god Vishnu flanked by two female consorts, the three figures stand together on a raised platform with the four armed Vishnu in the center, a many headed naga (cobra snake) opens it's hood like an umbrella over Vishnu's head, a flat nimbus behind the figures depicts tendrils of water flowing from the mouths of two makara. Southern India. 19th century. Size: 11 1/2" high x 9 1/2" wide x 4" deep.

Wonderful hand-carving from teak wood depicting Ganesha, the Hindu god of beginnings. He is easily identifiable by his elephant's head and four arms, two of which are shown holding his own broken tusks, and one of which is grasping his nose. He sits under an archway upon a hippopotamus with its head turned straight upward. Early 20th century (1900-1925) Size: 9.75" tall, 5.75" wide

Antique Indian bronze figure the Goddess Durga, she is seated with her lion mount depicted very small by her right leg, she wears a tall crown, her forehead is burnished from reverent touch over the years, her attributes which she hold in four hands include a sword and a club, she sits on a square base with an ornate nimbus of makara heads and naga canopy, Southern India, 19th century. Beautiful bronze offering chalice from India with one large peacock surrounded by four smaller peacocks, bowing their heads in worship to the central bird. The chalice has a hinge on its front and back, which could secured shut with a pin or rope. The bronze has some red patina on the feathers of each bird and has bronze patina. The peacock is the national bird of India and is also considered a vehicle to the Hindu lord Murugan...

Very detailed repousse made of copper depicting the Hindu deity Krishna, seen holding a spear in one hand and some sort of vine in the other. He has worshippers on either side of him, adorned in lavish jewelry, headdresses, and scarves. Behind Krishna is the winged holy being Garuda, who serves as the mount to Lord Vishnu. 19th century.
