A woman's embroidered blue brocade informal robe
Late Qing dynasty
Possibly made from a dark blue brocade man's robe, embroidered with large-scale floral sprays, butterflies and other insects in loose satin stitch while flowering branches and butterflies in fine threads fill the black silk border bands, the polychrome embroidered ivory ground sleeve bands highlighted with gilt-wrapped threads (wear, soiling).

Lovely fluted porcelain teapot decorated in the Imari palette with butterflies and flowers. H. 12,5 cm. This teapot is in in excellent condition: original lid, no cracks, chips or repairs, only minor ware to the gilding.
Diameter approximately 28.5 cm. Polished. In good condition.
Height approximately 23.5 cm. Few hairlines at the body. Some chips at the rim.

The figure is placed on a large Lotus throne on top of high hexagonal plint, both in fine Sancai colours - a two-colour green and yellow glazed robe. He wears a head dress. Finely hand painted facial details. Lotus thrones are very rare for Ming pottery figures...

SOLD Chinese Huanghuali altar table, its front and side aprons carved with dragons and fireballs. The side panels between the table's legs are carved with reticulated motifs of scrolls and dragons. The table's surface woodgrain shows many distinct "ghost eyes" associated with Huanghuali wood.
