This antique pair of earrings are from the Miao Chinese Ethnic minority. For me the shape and thick "wires" add to the design of the earring...some groups of the Miao purposely expanded the size of the ear lobe holes to accomadate... I prefer to keep things in their original condition. I have used these in my "favorites" display case... the earring spann 2 inches x 2 inches x .5 inches. Assumbed to be low grade silver which was typically used in old China...

Antique Chinese bronze censer in the form of an ox. Standing with neck low and extended. On his back, the censer lid is made of silver with pierced decorations to allow for incense smoke.

A set of Mandarin squares, comprising a front and a back, dating around 1900. Insignia for a court official's wife, with appliqued silver pheasant bird, denoting the fifth rank. A small Chinese export porcelain foo dog done in the Sancai colors of brown, green, and yellow. The dog is standing on a pedestal with a puppy under his left foot. The figurine is marked "CHINA" on it's flat base. The dog measures about 7 3/4" x 3 3/4" x 2 1/4" wide. The condition is excellent with thickly applied enamels. A gilded bronze or brass alloy hand mirror of round form with a pair of four toed thick bodied Dragons characteristic of the Qing dynasty. The Dragons are impressed into a very fine sandy textured ground and are delineated entirely in flat raised lines similar to champlevé work. The pierced cylindrical knob or button has a V shaped opening for a silk cord and it appears to have been soldered to the centre rather than cast. It has an impressed Shou motif...

A wood image depicting a Daoist Exorcist riding a horse, holding the Seal for the control of evil forces on his right hand and the bowl with purifying water on his left hand. He wears the typical long Tao robe and crown shape hat. On the back of statue, there is a covered niche for the storage of prayer rolls. Wood with colours with very good details. China, Late Qing Dynasty. H. 32,5 x L 19 x W 11cm. Good condition.

The cabinet is dark brown lacquer possibly over-painted. There are mother of pearl inlay of very old Chinese calligraphy characters on the doors and drawer front... with no translation available. There is a copper/bronze decorative latch on the cabinet doors. This cabinet would have been used in a prayer niche and would have held religious objects 32 x 13 x 7 inches.

A very rare and superb hand made genuine QING DYNASTY SILVER BOWL, with extensive open carving work and depicting the Dragons chasing the flaming Pearl. The base is stamped by a Chinese Hallmark: "SS, followed by a Chinese Character and 90, SUN SHING" as shown in one of the photographs, ca. 1900. Weight: 199 gr. excluding the inset glass bowl. Size: height 7.6 cm. x 13.5 cm. diameter. This silver bowl also has a later added glass inset bowl, which can be removed for easy cleaning!
