SOLD A large Chinese brush pot hand carved from solid Zitan hardwood. The brush pot has a cylindrical natural form with interesting root texturized edges. An unusual scholars brush pot holder. The zitan shows "gold threading" running with that of the dark grain.

$3,000.00 Antique Chinese pair of porcelain hat stands, glazed with a light orange ground, enamel motifs of various flowers including peony, chrysanthemum, birds, insects, gourd bottles, and other auspicious objects. Each stand is of a hexagonal form with pierced melon shaped areas. The feet are slightly recessed with white underglaze and buff edges.

Usually these are characterized by such components such as under-glazed yelow-brownish and green motifs with molded design in relief, appliqué designs or impressed designs in relief and also incised or carved designs. The unique feature of the water dropper is the olive/brown glaze that is more like yue ware, but the paste and glaze is actually one of the rarest Changsha kiln products that exist...

The double front doors showcase the dramatic natural grain. Behind each set of doors are a red lacquered interior with single shelving. The mid section of the cabinet holds two drawers that open with auspicious lucky bat handles.

The beads in this necklace are amethyest, agate, Chinese Peking glass and one medallion with the Chinese symbol, Shou for longevity.

Statue of Buddha Sakyamuni, in monk's robes, standing on an elevated circular base, his hands in abhaya and varada mudra. Bronze with nice, partly encrusted patina. China, Tang Dynasty. Height: 11.7 cm. Very good condition.

SOLD Antique pair of small bronze seated Qilin. Cast with heads facing upward and mouths open. Details of scales and striated tails. Each has a single horn. As scholar objects, it is possible that these were once used as scroll weights. Each Qilin stands on an antique carved hardwood stand.

Gracefully cast with head bent toward the ground, ears forward and with a friendly expression The oval shaped top portion of his saddle is removable and has a pierced design on the seat where the incense smoke would have escaped. This is further emphasized by the cast design of swirling smoke on the horses saddle cloth.
