Chinese Export Imari Porcelain Plate, 18th C. Qianlong period 1736-1795, 9" diameter, 1 7/8" high, with Peony flower branches in the center, within more floral branches decorated on the wide border, all the decorations are done with overglaze iron red on top of the underglaze blue, highlighted in gold. There are very tight glaze hairline under the plate about 2" long and another one is 3/4" long, and small chips 1/8" wide under the rim.

DESCRIPTION: A pair of porcelain figures, each a representation of Li T'ieh-kuai, one of the Chinese eight immortals. Li T'ieh-kuai is always represented as a lame beggar leaning on a crutch with a pilgrim's gourd in hand. The Eight Immortals are legendary beings of the Taoist sect who attained immortality and dwell in the remote hills and mountains of China. Both of these figures date from C. 1900, with the larger one's inner base stamped with "China" in red ink...

A small heavy porcelain jar (without its original cover) finely decorated with stylized peony scrolls in green and iron red against a yellow enamel ground and with four cartouches depicting flowers, insects and precious objects painted with additional overglaze blue and aubergine enamels...

An early 18th Century porcelain tea bowl and saucer decorated in underglaze blue with overgalze iron red and green enamels in "Verte Imari" style. This item was made in China for export to Europe early in the 18th Century, probably during the reign of the Yongzheng emperor (1723-1735). . Bowl: 4cm (1.5 inches) high; 7cm (2.75 inches) diameter. Saucer: 11.5cm (4.5 inches) diameter.

An interesting set of two Chinese Canton paintings depicting two festival scenes that were possibly seen on the streets in China during the Qing dynasty. The top view depicts a figure riding a horse and people are flocking to receive blessings. The bottom scene is showing a theatrical troupe passing by. The painting contains techniques that were brought in from the West in Canton during the 19th century. Age: 19th century Size: Length 15.5" Height 19.75"

A pair of two different paintings depicting different views of people either engaged in different activities. One scene appears to show a soldier like figure coming back or meeting a lady and another scene is depicting a family at leisure. Particular elements have elements similar to Chinese theatrical costuming and designs. The techniques are more Western since these works were made in Guangzhou in the Canton concessions. Often these works depicted scenes of daily life in the streets of the Qing Period. This particular view is showing two martial artists showing their skills. Straits Chinese silver hallmarked adjustable mesh belt with a three-part buckle decorated in low relief with a fish among flowers. The back of the buckle contains two hallmarks with Chinese characters (see enlargement 4). 19th century. High grade silver weighing about 8 oz. Measures 34" long from end to end.
