Chinese antique sewing table, black lacquer with beautiful and ornate gold lacquer designs depicting scenes of palace life, interior has many little places for organizing sewing materials all lacquered in black and gold with bone details, a pull out lacquer and silk area underneath for storing embroidery supplies, claw feet, with key, 18th/19th century. Chinese elm wood square low table in a natural finish with two deep drawers each on two alternating sides. Brass hardware appears to be original. Late 19th century. 19 5/8"H x 31 3/4" square. There is an old narrow moon shaped burn on the top (see enlargement 3) and there are a few small separations in the wood on the top from shrinkage. This piece is from a Tucson collection and was purchased by expatriates to Taiwan in the 1980's.

Large 42-drawer Chinese lacquered elm wood apothecary (medicine) chest. The interior of each drawer is separated into three parts. The names of three different Chinese medicinal substances or herbs are written in white calligraphy on each drawer front. Late 19th century. 40 1/2" wide x 17 1/4" deep x 40" high. Chinese 2 section cabinet made of light color jumu (elm) wood, the top section cabinet doors cover an open compartment with a shelf and two small drawers, the bottom section has 2 exterior drawers and another set of cabinet doors, circa 1900. Size: 67" high x 38 1/4" wide x 18" deep.

A unique piece of zitan wood used as a sample for the scholar's woodworker. This piece is unusual as it shows a very light color of the zitan wood which is probably close to the bark area. An extremely rare pair of original 18th century elm wood lacquered folding chairs. All the parts are original including the original lacquer. Only replacements were the hardware in the folding joints as the originals had rusted out. The back panel has an open- work floral design with a cloud design on the upper and lower panels. A beautiful and very functional pair of black lacquer wooden cabinets with detailed court scenes. The cabinets can be stacked as pictured or positioned separately and perhaps placed under windows.
