Large Chinese Qing dynasty Guangxu period porcelain jar decorated in famille verte enamels with two central panels on opposing sides. One panel features a veranda with a woman kneeling before an official and his attendant. The opposing panel depicts beauties and children in a garden setting. Between the two large panels are two smaller floral roundels. The panels are set against a cream-colored crackled glaze background densely covered in rust-red flowers and green scrolling foliage...

Chinese late Qing dynasty sang-de-boeuf (oxblood) flambé glazed cylindrical form censer. The oxblood glaze drips inside at the rim above the thick off-white glaze lining the interior. The censer rests upon vestiges of three small tripod legs. The base is unglazed and has burnt orange. As is typical of late 19th century examples, the base shows evidence where the glaze ran off the base and was broken off the kiln supports. 7 3/8” diameter x 5 1/2” high. Pair of hard porcelain vases, enamel decoration of butterflies, birds and flowers. Dragons chasing the sacred pearl surround the collar inside and out. Golden details. The flared shape is elegant and very rare, the enamels are of excellent quality, the patterns are well drawn and the presence of dragons is also rare on this type of porcelain which, almost always, was intended for Europe. Pair of hard porcelain pheasants covered with "famille rose" enamels, gilt details. "compagnie des indes" style. Although the style is Chinese from the 18th century, these are late copies Probably Chinese work from the 20th century, perhaps from the Republican period. The enamels are beautiful and thick, some details are gilded. Base unglazed, no mark. Good condition, except the beak of a pheasant broken and badly restored . Height: 29cm

Chinese Qing to Republic period porcelain lion dog seated with an open mouth revealing ferocious teeth and a well-formed protruding tongue, covered overall with a golden amber glaze. 8 1/2" high x about 8" long. Early 20th century. An old price tag is adhered to the unglazed base. Very good overall condition with possibly a tiny loss or production flaw to the side of one tooth. Buddhist lion in green, yellow and manganese enamelled porcelain, black eyes. The animal standing on its 4 legs rests on a base cut out in the shape of a leaf. Chinese work from the end of the 17th century, period of the Kangxi emperor, Sancai style (three colors). No restoration, good condition which is rare. On the chest appears a firing slot at the place of the joint of the 2 molded parts. Height 95mm.
