Sold Description:
A spotted deer with high horns was an ancient ceramic toy. Nicely squeezed and mold in shape and obtained the artistic interest. Some similar pieces were found in Chinese documentation. Date: Song Dynasty, 11th/12th century. Height: 8.5cm. Condition: Broken in neck and re-glued. Some abrasions and debris in the glaze.

$150.00 A Chinese plate, late Kangxi or Yongzheng, early 18th c. Decoration of a river landscape in under-glaze blue, over-glaze iron red and gilt. Red mountains in the background- unusual - apparently with snow at the top. Diameter “9/23 cm. Condition: rim frits and minimal wear to the well.
Two rare Chinese Song dynasty qingbai (yingqing) glazed porcelain dishes of chrysanthemum form with thinly potted bodies, an upturned rim divided into twelve lobed petals by vertical ribs, and flat, slightly concave unglazed bases. Circa 10th - 11th century. 4 1/8” diameter. There are a few tiny flea bites at the rim which are visible under magnification and there are a few old hairline cracks that appear to be stable...

Sold to USA - 2012 售至美国 - 2012年 A heavy 18th Century double walled cup - the outer wall carved with reticulated decoration and painted with small famille rose flowers. This item was made in China during the reign of the Qianlong emperor (1736-1795). Condition there is a hairline to the inner wall which does not continue to the outside (please see enlargements 6 and 7) and there is very extensive wear to the gilding; there are no chips and there has been no restoration. 7cm (2.8inches) high; 7.7cm (3inches)diameter...

SOLD TO THE UK Wonderful porcelain jar, decorated in blue and white. Typical wanli pattern of swastikas on the shoulder, the rest of the jar decorated with gardens and two flying cranes, China, Wanli (1573-1620). Condition: two hairline cracks on the mouth rim, one of them with an almost invisible related crack on the shoulder. Dimensions: H. 17,5 cm, Diameter 17 cm.
Chinese late Ming (16th/17th century) Zhangzhou (Swatow) porcelain deep charger decorated in iron-red, green, and black overglaze enamels on a cream-colored crackle glaze ground with a central roundel holding flowering peonies. A band containing four floral panels against a crossed line ground extends around the circumference of the rim. 13" diameter x 2 3/4" high. There is significant wear to the enamels and several very old rim chips (see enlargements 6 and 7)...

Sold to China - April 2011 售至中国 - 2011年4月 A late 19th Century ovoid jar painted, in Yongzheng style, with 'Famille Rose' enamels depicting thirty-five boys in a dragon festival / procession. This item was made in China, possibly for export, during the reign of the Guangxu emperor (1875-1908). Condition - very good - no damages and no restoration...
A very interesting set of 5 porcelain bowls with monochrome glaze, marked with maker's mark. China, late Qing or early Republic. H. 6,5 cm, Diameter 11 cm. Condition: small piece of glaze is missing on the inside bottom of the green bowl, the same bowl has a minor glaze imperfection on the outside. The rest of the set is in mint condition.

From our Chinese Polychrome Collection, a fine Rose-Verte porcelain dish, Yongzheng Period (1723-1735), well-painted in the center depicting an elegant lady, a young boy, and a deer carrying peaches on its back signifying longevity. Bordered on the cavetto with floral sprays, and dressed on the rim with iron oxide.
Rose-Verte is a less commonly encountered version of the Famille Rose and Famille Verte palettes... |
