A few chips under the lip the mouthrim, and craquelure (these are surface glaze cracks only and do not go into the body0 please examine enlargements. H: 38cm/15in and D: 33cm/13in. Quirky Cizhou type, heavy, completely black glazed, waisted beaker from circa Ming Dynasty. Possibly this was used in a Chinese Apothecary, but this is just a best guess to its function. The hole on the bottom was made prior to firing and is part of the original design. Lovely thick glaze and aside from a couple of chips on the outside of the foot, in very good condition. H: 13cm/5.1in- width at base : 8.7cm/3.8in and width at mouthrim : 11cm/4.3in.

Chinese Yuan to early Ming dynasty very heavily potted melon form sugary textured pale bluish-white porcelain lidded teapot decorated with moulded stylized birds on opposing sides. A prominent luting line is visible around the mid-section of the ribbed body and the interior is glazed. Small loops are at the edge of the lid and top of the rounded handle for attachment. The slightly concave unglazed base and old firing flaws have oxidized burnt orange. Circa 14th century...
Chinese Yuan to Ming dynasty Longquan celadon dish with everted barbed rim, the center nicely carved with a floral pattern surrounded by stylized incised floral patterns on the cavetto. The glaze is crackled overall. The underside is decorated with vertical ribbing. The characteristic unglazed burnt orange ring is within the glazed ringed foot. 10 3/8" diameter x 2" high. Circa 14th century. Very good overall condition...
