Chinese late Ming dynasty porcelain guan form jar with wide shoulders tapering to a flat, unglazed base decorated in underglaze blue with lotus flowers and scrolling foliage on a white ground. A short, cylindrical neck ends with an applied light brown wash at the rim. The interior is fully glazed. A luting line is faintly visible at the waist and can be seen and felt on the inside. Chinese late Ming dynasty crackle-glazed porcelain pear-shaped vase with bulbous base, waisted neck, and flaring mouth decorated with scattered underglaze blue cobalt butterflies and leafy fruited and flowering twigs. The white glaze has a faint gray hue with darker gray geyao-type crackles. The glazed base bears an underglaze blue square form "yu tang jei qi" mark (an excellent ware from the hall of jade).
