Large Chinese Qing dynasty cylindrical form lidded porcelain food container decorated on the front and slightly domed cover in famille rose enamel leafy flowers and on the back with three rows of black calligraphy holding a poem which translates loosely as: "Hundreds of grasses and thousands of plants wait for spring. The most amazing is the color of the green poplar. The rain and dew on the horizon are strong every year...

Chinese porcelain vase. Enamelled background in a beautiful deep red-orange. Decor of plants and flowers painted in "Famille rose" enamels. Probably Chinese work but perhaps Japanese. Below, no mark allowing precise dating. 20th century or earlier. Good condition, slight wear from use. Height: 145mm Diameter: 120mm

The bowl is decorated inside with ducks and enamel plants in the style of the "Famille Verte" we find the colors fired at low temperature aubergine, green, some very rare touches of blue and the fragile iron red, detail in gold. The outlines of the subjects are either black or red. The circles are in underglaze cobalt blue fired higth fire...

Chinese Qing dynasty monochrome blue glazed censer with inward rounded rim. The white glazed interior ends at the circular unglazed center. This form evolved from a tripod censer and vestiges of the three legs remain as small protrusions at the bottom surrounding the unglazed circular base. Measures about 10” diameter x 5” high. 19th century. Very good overall condition. From the estate of Gerhard Lohmeier, a Diplomat at the German Embassy in Beijing from 1985 to 1989.

Chinese Northern Song Dynasty Qingbai Porcelain Bowl in Kiln Saggar

An opportunity to acquire a Northern Song Dynasty (AD 960 - 1127) kiln saggar still containing its Qingbai porcelain bowl, excavated from a kiln site in the Jingdezhen area of Jiangxi province. This is one of a variety of different Qingbai porcelain wares in saggars, mostly bowls and dishes of varying sizes and patterns, that we were very lucky to be able to acquire some time ago and now offer for sale.

Chinese Qing dynasty Guangxu period lidded teapot decorated on both sides in underglaze blue with two figures from the novel "Romance of the Three Kingdoms" engaged in an outdoor sword battle. The lid is decorated with a central flower. Two Metal handles connect to porcelain supports at the shoulder. The interior and base are glazed. A pair joss-stick holders with Buddhist lions standing on a leave-shaped base and a single one with wooden stand. Made of biscuit porcelain and glazed in the "sancai" palette. Dating to the Kangxi period (1662-1722). Condition: the balls of the male lions are lost, both with small restorations, the bulging eyes of the beasts with glue residues, one lion with small flake on the tail. Dimension: pair height: c. 10.1 cm, single one: c. 15.5 cm high.

This highly decorative and attractive "Kraak" porcelain dish was made at the Jingdezhen kilns during the Wanli reign (1573 - 1620) of the Ming Dynasty. The pattern, in underglaze blue of good colour, features in its centre a winged insect amongst various plants and blossoms. Surrounding this are eight roundels containing, alternately, peach blossoms and precious objects...
