The base carries the reign mark of the Daoguang emperor and this item was possibly made during his reign. On the base is the apocryphal mark of the 15th Century (Ming) Chenghua emperor but this item was made much later , in the 19th Century, probably during the reign of the Tongzhi emperor (1862-1874) when this style was first introduced. The base carries the six character reign mark of the Jiajing emperor (1522-1566) enclosed within a double circle but this item was probably made later, in the 16th/17th Century, during the reign of the Wanli emperor (1573-1619). Condition: there is production glaze loss (fritting) to the rim but no cracks or damages and no restoration...

The body clay was revealed at the foot ring in dry and grayish tint which was caused during long periods of burial. Date: Southern Song Dynasty.1127-1279 Width: 12cm, Height: 6.6cm. $75.00 A Chinese porcelain bowl used for growing bulb flowers. The bowl dates to the Republic period, and measures 7 1/2" x 4 1/2" x 2". The landscape decoration has been done in a ruby pink under glaze, and there is calligraphy done in black on each end. The white porcelain shows orange peel texture, and when new there was gold on the rim. Condition: The condition is excellent, but most of the gold on the rim is gone, and there are small kiln flaws.
