A rare large Chinese carved wooden figure of a Goldfish. The fish is covered with gold lacquer over a brown lacquer base. It has bulging black and white glass eyes, fins, scales, and a large fan shaped tail. The underside shows the brown lacquer base coat. The fish measures about 15" long x 6" wide at the broadest point of the tail, and it dates to the early 20th Century...

Jade pendant (Talisman) representing a tigress and her cub. (Or devouring a prey?) Usual wear for this period. No lack or restoration. Drilled with a hole between the front legs. Antique Chinese jade lidded box in rectangular form on four cylinder legs. Carved with highly raised relief designs of archaic motifs featuring lion heads, key frets and scrolling chimera. Loose carved ring handles on the sides and large fu-lion finial on the lid. Beautiful coloring ranging from white to green. On carved hardwood base.

Antique Chinese branch coral carving of a beautiful maiden. She stands holding a vase with peonies. Her hair is pulled up into a high bun on which is perched a bird. Her robes flow around her and she stands on a rocky out cropping. The coral is perfectly balanced on an ornately carved hardwood base.

Age: Qing Dynasty (circa 1800's)

A large wooden Christian cross with beautiful lotus and vines decoration inlaid in engraved mother of pearl, originating from Macau, Vietnam or Southern China. Rearside with paper label. Crosses such as this example would have served in the teaching of the Bible in East Asia. Condition: partially chipped rims, center with restaured area (please see photo no. 7). 1900's Chinese Rock Crystal Carved Cowboy Ride Water Buffalo on Wood Stand

It is 6.3 inches (16 cm) tall measured with stand and 5.2 inches (13.2 cm) tall measured without stand by 7 inches (18 cm) wide. The crystal weighs by itself is 1860 grams. Total weight including the stand is 4.5 lb.

It is 12 inches (30.5 cm) tall measured with stand and 10.6 inches (27 cm) tall by 4.3 inches (11 cm) wide measured without stand. It is 1792 gram without stand (4.2 Lb) with stand.

Massive Chinese late Qing to Republic period hardwood scroll pot of naturally irregular tree trunk form carved from a single piece of wood with five nearly hidden bats along the sides. Hollow interior and flat bottom with separate plug. Late 19th to early 20th century. 19 3/8" high x about 9 3/4” diameter; 16 lbs. Very good overall condition with typical wear from age and use. From the collection of former American expatriates to Hong Kong in the 1970s and 1980s.
