$120.00
Good Tang Dynasty gray clay brick/tile depicting “Atlas” type, Yakshi figure seated on a lotus blossom. I was in Taxila, (cradle of Gandharan Civilization) and saw a similar figure. This illustrates the Greco/Roman influence in Tang art. The lotus shows indicates an obvious Buddhist connection. The left side of the face is molded a bit obscure, but no damage. An unusual piece, in that it is smaller than the other ones I have had- ergo cheaper shipping...

GBP £320 Fine Rare Chinese Warring States Painted Pottery Jug
This very rare pottery vessel was made during the Warring States period (475 - 221 BC). It is quite highly-fired and "heavily-potted" with a sturdy handle and the mouth fashioned to form a pouring lip. It was originally painted with diagonal lines in white pigment, although only faint traces of this now remains. Note the round protrusion to the inner surface where the handle is joined to the body... LARGE Chinese Western Han Dynasty Painted Pottery Soldier (206 BC - AD 8)
This large and impressive pottery model of a warrior was made over 2,000 years ago during the Western Han Dynasty (206 BC - AD 8). It is made from a dense grey pottery and particularly "heavily-potted". It has been "cold painted" in white, red and black pigments...

These fine and very rare pottery ladies were made during either the Sui Dynasty (AD 581 - 518) or the early part of the Tang Dynasty (AD 618 - 906). They are made from a fine-grained grey pottery and are particularly well-detailed; note the detail of the faces, the hairstyle, the folds of the clothing with the very long sleeves. Traces of the original "cold painted" surface pigment remain. Height 25.5 cm. Fine condition with...
Conservatoire Sakura
$3,200.00 Two characters with bird beaks serving as incense holders. They are in sandstone covered with lead glassures of three colors (sancai), yellow, green and manganese, these models also have a part enamelled in white. Models with animal masks are much rarer than those with human faces and probably represent the animals of the zodiac. Good condition, almost not worn, a broken and glued head visible on photos. The glassure is finely cracked. Height: 325mm. Chinese work probably 17°, but maybe before.

$1,495.00 This is a genuine, archaic Chinese nephrite axe or Gui scepter. The surface has the expected smooth, "waxy" feel to it. The end is sharpened (which leads me to think it was made as a prestige axe as opposed to a scepter, although the literature seems to view pieces such as this one as either/both an axe and a Gui scepter; e.g. Rawson in Chinese Jade - I've included photos of the pieces listed there for reference). The piece is made from a pale celadon nephrite with darker inclusions and some are...

Fine Chinese Tang Dynasty Sancai Glazed Pottery Groom Figure (Published & with Oxford TL Test)

It is "heavily-potted" and made from a cream-coloured pottery that is relatively highly-fired. The body is coated in very finely-crackled green and amber glazes. This fine and rare pottery vessel was made over 3,000 years ago by peoples of the Siwa Culture (c.1350 BC) from present day Gansu or Qinghai province. It is quite "heavily-potted" with high handles, a saddle-shaped mouth and a wide body. Pottery jars from the Siwa culture are rarer than those of the preceding Qijia and Majiayao cultures and most known examples are made from an orange or buff coloured pottery. Blac... $200.00
Unusual pottery bowl with hand molded snake handle. I cannot find any pieces similar in style to this although the reddish clay and heavy potting are reminiscent of Hongshan pottery. This came out of China and has a good petrichor and water absorption on the base, very old- at least 2000 to 3000 years old but probably older. W: 14cm/5.5in and H: 12cm/4.7in.
