This small and attractive pottery model of a horse was made during the Yuan Dynasty (AD 1279 - 1368). It is quite "heavily-potted" and made from a black pottery with a smooth burnished surface. Note the detail to its mane. Pottery horses from the Yuan dynasty are much rarer than those from other periods. Height 17 cm, length 20 cm... Chinese Jin Dynasty Pottery Filial Piety Tile - Wang Wuzi
This moulded pottery tile was made during the Jin Dynasty (AD 1115 - 1234) and was most likely excavated from Shanxi province. It is made from a relatively highly-fried grey pottery. Filial piety was, and still is, an important part of Chinese culture. This tile depicts a scene from one of the twenty-four paragons of filial piety, that of Wang Wuzi: Wang Wuzi lived in the Tang dynasty...

Large Chinese Song Dynasty Painted Pottery Tile of a Warrior
This rare and unusual pottery tile depicts an armoured warrior. It was made during the Song Dynasty (AD 960 - 1279). It is made from a grey pottery that has been "cold painted" in a base coat of white pigment on top of which have been applied various different coloured pigments. This tile depicts a formidable warrior. Note the thick-set facial features, also the headgear and the decorative armour he wears...

This extremely rare large stone tile dates to the Jin Dynasty (AD 1115 - 1234). The carving is of fine quality and features a bird standing with outstretched wings in a circle, itself within a square panel.
