Chinese Pottery Tomb Lady Figure with partially glazed with amber to brownish robe, and hands tucked under the robe, 10 3/8" high, 2 3/4" wide, 2" deep, light brownish amber color drip glaze robe ran down to the bottom, with unglazed head and bottom feet area with some tiny old rounded chips to larger chip about 1/2" wide on the right upper arm area on the Brownish glaze.

Chinese Northern Wei Dynasty Pottery Horse with Female Rider

This attractive model of a horse and rider was made during the Northern Wei Dynasty (AD 386 - 534). It is made from a grey pottery that has been cold painted in a creamy-white pigment on top of which have been applied other coloured pigments. Note the detail of the female rider's facial features and hairstyle. 

Height 29.5 cm (11.5 inches)...

A pottery whistle in the form of an unusual face with its lips puckered as if whistling. The top of the whistle has green and brown glazes (sansai glaze) - the bottom is unglazed. The glaze has a very fine crackle. Under magnification, tiny pits can be seen on the fine crackle, which is consistent with the appearance of glazes for pieces of this period.

Chinese archaic pottery figure of a calling camel on a solid base, made from red clay. The statue has a great, incredibly detailed form. The inside body of the camel is hollow and within it you can see finger imprints from the original artist. In wonderful, original condition. Tang Dynasty dates from AD 618-907. Size: 22" H

Chinese tomb pottery figure of an foreign army general. He stands confidently with chin up and arms bent. His fists are clenched and most likely he once wielded a spear or weapon of some sort. His armor is elaborately carved with swirling motifs and he wears a helmet with round finial. His eyes are wide and his teeth are defined in an intense expression. He is sculpted with great care and traces of slip pigment are still apparent where he was once painted...

Original Antique Chinese terracotta tomb sculpture of a tall, thin walking man. Extremely well-detailed with pleasing facial expression, hair worn in a knot style typical to that time period. A well done rare large carving of a stone sitting Han dog or lion. This stone dog was must probably used as a tomb guardian. Very Heavy. Size:H. 42cm -16.5 inches

Chinese green glazed pottery stove with silvery surface.

The silvery surface is also called "mercury glaze". This silvery precipitation is the result of chemical changes in the lead glaze caused by prolonged burial in the tomb. Greenware became popular during the Eastern Han period.

Green glazed pottery wirh wonderful iridescence. The roof can be removed and the pig can be taken out of the sty. Similar pieces can be found in the book 'The Spirit of Han'. Lovely example of Han tomb sculpture. Made of red pottery, painted with red, white and black pigments. Both are in good condition, with normal age wear.
