| Rare and beautiful antique Japanese isho tansu (clothing chest) from the Sendai area, made with striking keyaki wood burl on front, unusual elaborate iron work including top drawer lock plate in the form of a dragon and bottom drawer lock plate in the form of a tiger, two smaller drawers with peony shaped lock plates, large safe box with heavy hardware and three small keyaki wood interior drawers, moko shaped drawer pulls, middle drawers are covered by a locking bar with more hardware in the shape of bamboo, comes with one key, deep red/orange translucent lacquer finish with black lacquer edge on front, Meiji Period (1868-1912). Size: 35 1/8" high x 47 1/4" wide x 17 1/2" deep. | |||||||||||
