Japanese antique dark hardwood cha tansu (tea chest), beautifully simple with wonderfully carved details and rounded edges, stepped display shelves with cut out carved railing with bamboo motif, upper portion has compartment with sliding panels, lower portion has 3 drawers, 2 compartments with opening doors one of which has an interior shelf, a space on top over the sliding door compartment is carved with the objects symbolizing the lucky gods, Meiji/Taisho Period (early 20th century).
Size; 52" high x 51 3/4" wide x 15 1/2" deep.
