Japanese shin hanga woodblock print titled "Nagoya Castle in Spring" by Tsuchiya Koitsu (1870-1949) dated in the right margin "3rd month of Showa 12" (1937). The black ink signature and red seal of the artist are at the lower right. The title and date are printed in the lower right margin. The seals of the publisher Doi Hangaten, printer Yokoi, and carver Harada are in the left margin. Prints with the Doi Hangaten and Harada/Yokoi offset markings were produced somewhere between 1936 and 1965. The Doi publisher’s watermark is at the upper left. Paper measures nearly 17"V x 11 3/8"H (image 15 3/8"V x 10 1/4"H). This print was never framed and is in excellent overall condition.
