| Japanese shin hanga woodblock print titled "Teahouse in Azalea Garden" featuring a teahouse located in Mishima in Shizuoka Prefecture by Hiroshi Yoshida (1876-1950) dated Showa 13 (1938). 1st edition impression with "jizure" (self-printed) seal in the upper left margin. The artist's black ink brush signature and red seal is at the lower right corner of the image. The print is pencil-signed at the right side of the lower margin. Illustrated in "The Complete Woodblock Prints of Yoshida Hiroshi," Abe Publications, color plate #226. Paper measures about 11"V x 16 1/8"H (image size: 9 5/8"V x 14 3/4"H). Very good overall condition with full margins. The image is printed at a slight angle on the paper. The back is faintly toned (but not as significantly as the images suggest) except at the top where the print had been taped. There is very subtle evidence of discoloration on the margins from previous matting. | |||||||||||
