Edo Period Japanese woodblock print by Toyokuni III (also known as Kunisada) titled "Seki" depicting an actor portraying a woman of the samurai class who is carrying a sword and shakuhachi from the series "Actors at the Fifty-three Stations of the Tokaido" dated 5/1852. Excellent color and very nice impression quality, with fine delineation of the hair not apparent in the images. Signed "Toyokuni ga" (in a red cartouche with yellow snow). Measures 14"V x 9 3/4"H. The print is lightly album backed. No tape or tape stains. There is a small amount of foxing to the right of the title cartouche (see enlargement 3).
