A RARE PAIR OF CHINESE EXPORT PLATES, A VIEW OF CANTON, 18th CENTURY.
Two beautifully painted octagonal dishes from an 18th century export service. The scene is of the major trading port of Canton (present day Guangzhou) at the mouth of the Pearl River. Many of the buildings depicted can still be seen today. I have a suspicion that the plate was given a soft-paste slip before painting as it enables finer work. The attention to the detail is unusual; note especially the depiction of the trees. The plate was made specifically for export to the West during the Qianlong period, 18th century. Just a little under 8 inches (19.5 cm) diameter. Perfect condition. Please study the photographs. I am based in the United Kingdom so charges made to credit cards are in GBP ( British Pounds ) and your credit card issuer automatically converts the charge to the currency of your country. Payment may also be made by direct bank transfer in GBP as long as all fees are paid by the sender. I am sorry but I cannot accept a cash transfer payment by Western Union, as I don’t have an office nearby. ~~~ IF YOU WISH TO GET A SHIPPING QUOTE, PLACE AN ORDER OR ASK FOR FURTHER INFORMATION PLEASE EMAIL ME ~~~ ~~~ YOU CAN SAFELY PAY USING VISA, MASTERCARD OR AMERICAN EXPRESS BY USING OUR SECURE SERVER, PLEASE EMAIL AND I WILL FORWARD THE LINK ~~~ |
