Rare Subject Canton Enamel Dish, Qianlong, 18thC.
A RARE CHINESE EUROPEAN SUBJECT ENAMEL DISH, QIANLONG, 18TH CENTURY.

The dish is decorated with enamels on a copper body, work associated with Canton (Guangzhou). Charming composition very well executed. Made for export to the West during the Qianlong period, 18th century.

An identical example is illustrated in the catalogue "Chinese Art at Spink" 1991. #46.

7.7/16 inches (18.8 cm) diameter. The dish has some professional restoration to a small part of the rim where it appears to have received a small knock at some time. Below the seated figure is a tiny area of missing enamel, caused by a small knock from the rear as can be seen on the back where the white enamel has been filled. I have illustrated both faults in my photographs; they are really not that obvious. To be fair, this dish is in pretty exceptional condition for an 18th century enamel dish.

I am based in the United Kingdom so charges made to credit cards are in GBP ( British Pounds ) and your credit card issuer automatically converts the charge to the currency of your country. Payment may also be made by direct bank transfer in GBP. I am sorry but I cannot accept a cash transfer payment by Western Union as I don’t have an office nearby.
