A rectangular planter raised on bracket feet decorated overall with scrolling lotus beneath a champleve key-fret rim. The planter is of decent weight and has good signs of age and use; the interior has a deposit of calcium (from water) built over its years of use as a plant-pot holder. I suspect that this deposit could be easily removed with a kettle descaling solution but I prefer to leave it as evidence of age and use. The planter dates from the late nineteenth century to the first years of the twentieth.

9 inches (22.8 cm) long,; 5.9/16 inches (14.2 cm) wide; 3.9/16 inches (9 cm) tall. In fine condition.
