Impressive work by traditional Japanese Metal worker, cast iron teapot made by Josetsu Onishi (1777-1852), 10th generation of Onishi founder. The teapot has exquisitely crafted copper lid with the motif of paulownia and its spout is covered with silver. This is an example of stunning antique cast iron work. It comes with a custom box signed and sealed by 15th generation of Onishi. It says that this teapot was made by Josetsu Onishi in Tenpo period (1830-1843). Overall condition is very good with fine patina. Highly recommended article.
