| This is an extraordinary shibuichi koro of tripodic form, its domed lid with enameled lappets in jewel-like hues and excellent wirework. Realistically wrought flowers in brilliant enamels are overlaid in clusters upon its surface and a silver and enameled band of kiku petals encircles the finial. The mirror-like surface of the shibuichi alloy provides a vivid contrast to the exquisite tones of the floral arrangements executed in high relief. The koro includes a silver liner and the signature plaque of Masayoshi found on the base. The shibuichi and enamel koro is in excellent condition with no loss, damage or restoration. Height: 4" Meiji Period, Japan | |||||||
