Original Japanese woodblock print Yamamura Toyonari (1855-1952), titled “A Jar of Dahlias”, 1924. The print measures approximately 15 1/4 x 10 1/4 inches, plus margins. It is in very good condition, with no condition problems to note, aside from a thin spot on the reverse top margin. This design was included in the 1930 Exhibition of Modern Japanese Prints held at the Toledo Musuem of Art, and illustrated at plate 207 of the exhibition catalog.

Original Japanese woodblock print by Nishimura Hodo (fl. 1930s), titled “Hollyhock”. The print measures approximately 14 3/8 x 9 1/2 inches, plus margins. It is in very good condition, with no condition problems to note, aside from some light rubbing at the bottom right margin, thinning to the reverse top corners and a light printing crease. It is from the estate of the renowned 20th century print collector, Robert O. Muller, and was published by Takemura Hideo (Yokohama, active 1926-39).

Japanese woodblock print by Hiroshi Yoshida (1876-1950), titled Maruyama Park in Kyoto, from the Kansai District series, 1933. It has a brush signature in the image and there is also a jizuri seal in the upper left margin, denoting that Yoshida had approved of the quality of the print. This design is illustrated at plate 183 of Ogura, Tadao et. al., The Complete Woodblock Prints of Yoshida Hiroshi, Abe Publishing Co., Ltd., (Tokyo, 1987).

This print is in excellent condition, with extremely vivid colors, although there are three spots of foxing at the top center margin. The image measures approximately 9 5/8 x 14 3/4 inches, plus full margins.

It has both a brush signature in the image, and a pencil signature in the bottom margin. Original Japanese woodblock print by Natori Shunsen (1886-1960), titled "Matsumoto Koshiro as the White-Bearded Ikyu", 1929. The dimensions are 15 x 10 inches, plus margins. It is in very good condition, with a mica background. There is a spot on the actor's forehead, and another in his hair.

It is illustrated at plate 53 of the Shunsen Catalogue Raisonne.

Original Japanese woodblock print by Kawase Hasui(1883-1957), titled "Winter in Arashi Gorge", 1921. The dimensions are 14 1/4 x 9 1/2 inches, plus margins. It is in very good condition, with only some traces of residue on the reverse to note.

It is illustrated at plate 60 of the Kawase Hasui Catalogue Raisonne. Because it was published prior to the Great Kanto Earthquake of October, 1923, in which the blocks were destroyed, there are no later printings of this design.
