Khmer 11th / 12th Century Incised Stoneware Jar
This stoneware jar of squat globular form was made during the late 11th / 12th century. It is quite "heavily-potted" and is coated in a speckled brown glaze that stops short of the unglazed flat base. Around the wide shoulder are various bands of incised decoration. Diameter 14.5 cm, height 9 cm. The glaze has flaked from the surface in places where thin. There are surface scratches most likely caused during excavation, and minor "nibbling" to the rim edge. No repair or restoration. *** TO ORDER THIS ITEM PLEASE EMAIL US QUOTING OUR STOCK NUMBER (see above) - WE SHALL THEN EMAIL YOU BACK WITH POSTAGE COSTS AND PAYMENT INSTRUCTIONS *** *** FOR FULL DETAILS OF OUR GUARANTEE AND PAYMENT OPTIONS, PLEASE CLICK ON "Buying from us - All you need to know" ON OUR HOME PAGE *** |
