Fine Large Thai 15th Century Celadon Stoneware Bowl
Fine Large Thai 15th Century Celadon Stoneware Bowl

This fine large glazed stoneware bowl was made at the Sawankhalok kilns during the 14th or 15th centuries. It is heavily-potted and coated in a finely-crackled translucent celadon glaze. The centre of the bowl is further decorated with an incised spiral/floral pattern surrounded by several incised bands. The underside wall is covered with an attractive pattern of criss-cross incised lines.

Diameter 24.75 cm. There is insignificant flaking of the glaze where thinnest on the edge of the rim. No restoration or repair; a lovely example in fine condition.
