Vietnamese 15th Century Blue & White Porcelain Dish This fine quality blue & white porcelain dish was made toward the end of the 15th century and was recovered from the Hoi An wreck. It is well decorated with an attractive floral design in the centre of the dish and scrolling patterns around the cavetto. Lotus leaf patterns surround the outside wall. The glaze is finely crackled. Like many Vietnamese dishes of this period, the base within the footrim is coated with a brown wash and there is some "firtting" of the glaze around the edge of the rim. Diameter 22.5 cm.
