Very rare and superb Chinese painted pottery court man, wearing civil official's hat and full-length robe, clasping his hands inside the long sleeve, with red, black and white pigments remaining. His well-poised manner illustrates the dignified image of a high official in Tang Dynasty. Thermoluminescence test from Oxford is included.
Similar figure is presented in "Hong Kong Heritage Museum" and in the book "The Art of Chinese Ceramics from Han to Tang", published in 1998, page 129. Age: China, Tang Dynasty, circa A.D. 618 - 907
