Ming Dynasty, Set of Rare Chinese Stone Temple Guardian

A set of rare and superb Chinese stone temple guardians. Each guardian holds different objects consisiting of a bowl of holy water, pagoda, weapon and mace. With their powerful, fierce look, robust body and goggle eyes glaring, they are ready to drive away any evil that may approach temples. The dresses are delicately carved as layers of pleat.

During Ming Dynasty, these guardians were placed around the temple on North, East, South and West to watch out the temple and guard against evil. Please see stock number C5858-1, C5858-2, C5858-3 and C5858-4 for the complete set.

Age: China, Ming Dynasty, circa A.D. 1368 - 1644
Measurement: Height 54.5 C.M. / Width 30.8 C.M. (size excluding stand)
