| DESCRIPTION: An antique Chinese jade archer’s ring, also called a thumb ring, of a pale celadon color that appears slightly lavender in some lights. The outer surface is carved with four “shou” characters, a symbol of longevity, alternating with scroll designs. The top and bottom edges are carved in a key-fret border design and surround the rims, one which is convex and the other concave. The smoothness of the carving would suggest that this ring dates to at least the early 19th C. Good condition with a couple of minor frits on the concave rim. DIMENSIONS: Outer diameter is 1 ¼” (3.1 cm); height is 7/8” (2.3 cm). | |||||||||
