| DESCRIPTION: A Chinese ivory card case, each side carved with two cartouches depicting people in various garden settings. The lid removes to reveal the interior which would hold the calling cards. Dating from the last half of the 19th C., c. 1860 to 1900, the case has a nice mellow patina; there is a linear crack to the lid on one side, shown in photo. DIMENSIONS: 4” high (10 cm) x 2 ¼” wide (5.7 cm). | ||||||||||||
