| Fine and exceptionally rare Yuan Dynasty porcelaneous stoneware pot with a heavy dark brown and russet Jizhou glaze and original lid. The mouth rim was pared down after being dipped in the glaze prior to firing and there are numerous metallic spots on the body from the iron oxide glaze. There is an old repair on the outer side of the spout tip (most likely done to cover up a couple of chips) which is common in most old ewers- noted in enlargements, there is also a very minor original crack at the base of the handle that only goes about halfway into the body. H: 13.5cm/ 5.2in and D: 10cm/4in. | ||||||||||||||
