| Neolithic nephrite jade “jue” shaped ornament, beveled on one side with contemporary 14k gold mounting. This piece was purchased in Hanoi, Vietnam although conventional wisdom would place this as to the iron age Dong Son culture due to its location of origin, this style is documented as being from South East China circa 3500 BCE- 2500 BCE in Chinese Jade by Jessica Rawson which would have included most of Vietnam at the time (sometimes this is referred to as the Han-Viet period). Please note scale is centimeters and there is some calcification and pitting and/or small chips that one would expect from ancient jade. | ||||||
