| The size of Lacquer Tray: 12 1/8" X 11 5/8" x 1 1/4". Beautiful Japanese Antique Makie O-bon(tray), Lacquer Tray. It is most unusual and lovely lacquer tray seen. The tray has curved and rounded bottom. The finish on the top has high gloss roiro(black) lacquer on top. There are total of seven flower design. Four flower done in silver finish with gold takamakie gold lines. Flower on second left done with Raden(mothers pearl inlay), silver and gold togidashi finish. The center flower done with togidashi. The right side gold looking one with looks like inlay finish. The workmenship is superb. The top rim has Suzu(japanese tin) finishi. The bottom is done with nashishi finish. There are flower design carved and gold finish on the each side tray. The condition of tray is excellent other than some tin finish has a little wear spots(three nick spots), but the surface and lacquer finsh are wonderful condition. Very little wear. Very refine looking makie tray. It is from late Edo Kouki(late Edo) to early Meiji. | |||||||||||||||
