| The size of painted fan: 18 1/2" Long x 8" Long. Pretty Japanese original handpainted fan. The Fan is called Mekuri which was originally attached on Ohgi, Japanese fan. The painting done on gold leaf background paper with backing paper. The scene from Imperial palace, scene from tale of Genji. Pricess and prince are looking over the garden and talking with the lady in the garden. right wide with willow tree, or other kind hanging over. The pond area with iris. It is nicely painted in the Yamatoe style painting. The condition of painting is excellent. Little wear on the bottom edge as well as the corner which is expected for the age. Some age wear are expected. Dating from late 19th century. It can be framed very nicely. The painting is loose(Mekuri). | ||
