| The size of painted fan: 18 1/2" Long x 8" Long. Pretty Japanese handpainted fan. The Fan is called Mekuri which was originally attached on Ohgi, Japanese fan. The painting done on gold leaf background. The scene from Imperianl palace, scene from tale of Genji. Two Imperial palace officers are looking over the cherry blossom tree over the garden pond. The background with palace structure. It is nicely painted in the Yamatoe style painting. The condition of painting is excellent. Little wear on the bottom edge as well as the corner which is expected for the age. Some age wear are expected. Dating from late 19th century. It can be framed very nicely. The painting is loose(Mekuri). | |||||
