| The size of painted fan: 18 1/2" Long x 8" Long. Pretty Japanese handpainted fan. The Fan is called Mekuri which was originally attached on Ohgi, Japanese fan. The painting done on gold leaf background. The scene from tale of Genji. Two imperial officer looking over the water and Maple red leaves. The imperial cart parking left side. It is nicely painted in the Yamatoe style painting. The condition of painting is excellent. One center part creased line area has some wear has been painted.(front of first officer line). Little wear on the bottom edge as well as the corner which is expected for the age. Dating from late 19th century. It can be framed very nicely. The painting is loose sheet(Mekuri). | |||||||||
