| The size of Lacquer Box 6 7/8"L x 5 3/4"W x 5 3/4"H. Japanese Antique Makie, Lacquer Box with Tray inside.The design of Japanese Flower Tessen in Hiramakie with Togidashi and Nashiji on leaf and flowers. Beautiful work.The metal ornament in Kiri-mon design with silk Himo.The background is black lacquer.I was told this was used for keeping comb inside, and other lady's cosmetic use.The condition of box is excellent, no chip, no crack and no split in the joint. Also almost none scratch and wear on the surface. The bottom of box has little age wear, one area with little rough spots which by insect nibbled but treated. Dating this box set from mid to late 19C. Item was $1,450.00 originally. | |||||||||||||
