| This is a lovely and striking Japanese studio vase that starts with a round base then slowly tapers to a squarish top. All along the sides there are a series of six bands of nearly vertical zig zag cuts in the tannish – grayish – blue colored clay. The vase measures 11 ¾” high and is 4” square at the top and 3 ¼” diameter at the base. It is is excellent condition with no chips, cracks or restorations. It is signed on the base – the signature has been translated as "Ryusei". We date it to the mid to later 20th century, circa 1950-1970s. | ||||||||||
