| A lovely Japanese blue and white dish with a transfer design in soft underglaze blue of a preening peacock under a spreading tree of prunus (plum) blossoms. The dish is coupe shaped and measures 8 ½” diameter by 1 ½” deep. The dish is in excellent condition with no cracks or chips. There is a fuku (good luck) mark on the base along with a couple of spurs used to elevate the dish off the floor of the kiln. We date it to the early Meiji period, circa 1870-1890s. | ||||||||||
