| A handsome Japanese stoneware bowl with a Seto glaze. The design in executed in an underglaze medium cobalt blue - the top of the bowl with stylized flowers and vines - the side with a loosely drawn scene of a pine over a lakeside and two sails in the distance. The unglazed bottom show the dark tan of the clay and is surrounded with double blue circles. The bowl measures 5 1/2" diameter and stands 3" high at the rim. We date it to the early Showa period, circa 1930-1950. It is in excellent condition and is not signed. | |||||||||||
