A Fine and Rare 18th/19th Century Peking Glass Vase

A very fine Chinese Peking glass vase of double gourd form - with a base ground color of a marbleized off white/grey color with tannish streaks. On top of that rare coloration, there is a very beautifully executed overlay of translucent medium blue glass carved in the form of flowering vines that encircle the top and bottom bulbs of the double gourd form. Excellent condition with no chips, cracks or restorations. We date this piece to the mid 18th to early 19th century. Measures 6" high – the top opening is just under 1" diameter – the top bulb is 2 1/4" diameter – the bottom bulb is 3 5/8" diameter and the base is 1 1/4" diameter.
