| Western Zhou Dynasty (1,100-770 BC) A simple yet very elegant and well patinated bronze vessel formed by a bowl raised on a cylindrical foot and flanked with two handles emerging from the mouth of a mythical beast. The foot and the upper body are similarly decorated with stylized confronting phoenix and taotie masks. The interior of the bowl is inscribed with archaic characters.
