Qing dynasty, Jiajing period (1796-1821) Decorated brown enamels, iron-red and gilt and modeled in the form a Buddhist Lion holding a ball in his mouth and front paws. H: 2 7/8in (7.3cm.) excluding stopper This is a classical example of the snuff bottles molded at the end of the 18th century and throughout the 19th century. Provenance: Kenneth Greenstein Condition: very good with some wear and rubbing to the enamels as can be expected. Ref. SBK536 |
