Standing Bosatsu (probably Kannon) nagarebutsu (lit. flowing Buddha) sculpted from a single piece of wood (ichiboku-zukuri), originally finished in lacquer and gilt. Late-Heian Period ca. 1100. Stable condition, i.e., fumigated against further intrusions by wood-devouring insects.

A Lusan stem cup was in lovely size.
It was well preserved by reflecting the retrospective sheen of old condition.
Blue and white splashes were suffused against the dark brownish glaze background on the surface.
Loosening-feel body clay was revealed at the lower portion in beige tint.

Date: Tang Dynasty, 9th/10th century.

Beautiful mother of pearl inlaid in hardwood. The arms are inlaid with a scroll design. The back of the chair is inlaid with an elegant battle scene with men on horseback and a fort. The reverse of the chair is inlaid with flowers. The seat has 4 petal pattern at each corner. The legs, arms, and frame of the chair are beautifully carved with bats, plums and a scrolling pattern. Measures 41" tall, seat measures 16" wide, 17.5" tall.

A small archaic style bronze vase with twin dragon handles. This item was made in China in the 12th to 14th Centuries during the Southern Song (AD 1127-1279) or Yuan (AD 1279-1368) Dynasty. Condition - very good with rich old patination. There is a very old, possibly Ming Dynasty, small copper rivet repair to the foot (please view enlargements 11 and 12); no further damages and no restoration. 14.7cm (5.8 inches) high.
